This is a built-in buffet I designed for a very nice lady who realized she should not be spending money right now. I made a pretty detailed proposal for the job and it was a good exercise in designing to a purpose, but I would still rather be making the piece than thinking about making it. Her house was built in 1907 and once had a buffet, but it was ripped out in the seventies and ugly sliding closet doors were put in its place. She wanted it made right, dovetail drawers, solid oak countertop, solid panels in the frame-and-panel doors, and I would have had a great time making it. Next time.
